The short version
Gym Log+ is a lifting log. You open it, tap the routine, and log sets in seconds: last time's set sits beside today's, so you see what to beat. It runs a complete workout on Apple Watch with the iPhone in a locker, charts every exercise, shows your week on a body figure, and keeps your data on your own devices, syncing through your own iCloud — there is no account and no server of ours.
It has been on the App Store, on the same listing, since 2013, written and maintained by one developer the whole time, with about 450,000 downloads over that span. In 2026 it was rebuilt from the ground up in Swift and SwiftUI and shipped as an update to that listing, so every existing user's training history migrated in place rather than starting over in a new app.
"The logger I build for myself." — the developer, on what the app is

Three stories in it
A thirteen-year-old app, rebuilt in place
The original Gym Log+ was Objective-C from 2013. Version 3.0 replaced all of it — a new Swift 6 / SwiftUI codebase with no third-party code in it — and shipped in July 2026 as version 3.0 of the same app, on the same listing. That meant reading every format the old app had ever written to disk — its databases, its settings files, its backups — so a user who last opened the app years ago updates and finds their history intact. Twenty-eight releases followed between 10 August and 19 September 2026, most of them shaped by user email.
An Apple Watch app that actually works alone
Most watch companions are remote controls. This one holds its own copy of your routines and its own log: start a routine, log every set, rest, add an exercise from the whole library, finish, and the workout syncs to the phone when the two are next in range. The rest timer counts down on the watch face through complications in all four accessory shapes and the Smart Stack. The Apple Watch page has the detail.
Private in the structural sense
There is no account to create, no server that holds workouts, no ads, no analytics and no social feed; the app makes no network requests of its own. Data lives on the device and syncs through the user's own private iCloud database, which the developer cannot read. Even sharing keeps to that: a routine shared as a link carries the whole plan inside the link, with nothing uploaded anywhere. The trade-off is deliberate and public — no web app, no Android, no feed — and the comparison pages say so.

Boilerplate
Gym Log+ is a workout tracker for iPhone and Apple Watch that logs a set in seconds and runs a whole workout from the wrist. It has been on the App Store since 2013, built by one developer, and was rebuilt from scratch in 2026 with every user's history carried forward. There is no account, no server, no ads and no feed: workouts stay on the user's devices and sync through their own iCloud. It is free, with a Pro subscription or a one-time lifetime unlock.
Words we don't use
The app is never described as AI, smart or revolutionary, in the app or the store. The Program Builder assembles a plan from a goal, days and equipment out of the exercise catalog, on the device; progression suggestions are rules, computed on the phone from your own log. If a draft calls any of it AI, we'd ask you to change it, because it isn't.
And the name is Gym Log+ — one app, one listing, since 2013. Version 3.0 is a rebuild of it, not a sequel.
Assets
Right-click to save. The icon and screenshots may be used in coverage of the app; please don't alter the icon.
These are web-sized. Need full-resolution App Store captures, a specific screen, a particular device size, or the watch on its own? Email and say which — the screenshot pipeline is automated, so most requests are same-day.
See it yourself
Free to install; the whole logging flow and the Watch app are on the free tier.
