Gym Log+ Privacy Policy

This policy covers the Gym Log+ app and the gymlogplus.com website, operated by Minds Aspire LLC.

The short version

Gym Log+ has no accounts, no sign-in, and no server of ours that ever sees your data. Everything you log stays on your device and, if you use iCloud, in your own private iCloud database that only your Apple Account can access. We cannot read your workouts. We collect no analytics, run no ads, use no third-party tracking of any kind, and the current app makes no network requests of its own.

What the app stores, and where

• Your training data — workouts, sets, routines, programs, body weight, measurements, progress photos, notes, and settings — is stored on your device.
• If your device is signed into iCloud, that data syncs through CloudKit's private database, which is encrypted and scoped to your Apple Account. Apple's infrastructure carries it; we have no access to it and no servers of our own. Progress photos sync the same way, as part of your private database.
• Your Apple Watch holds its own copy of your routines and the workouts it logs. That data moves directly between your iPhone and your watch; the watch app does not use iCloud.
• On-device search. Exercise names (and their search aliases) are indexed so Spotlight can find them. Nothing you log — no sets, weights, dates or records — is ever indexed.
• Backups you export (.gymbackup, CSV) are files you create and control; they go only where you send them.

Apple Health

Nothing involving Apple Health happens until you grant access — the app asks, and each Health feature is off until you turn it on. With access, the app can: write the workouts and body weight you log to Health (a workout measured on your Apple Watch carries the heart rate and energy the watch recorded); read body-weight entries from Health; read heart rate and active energy during a watch-measured workout to show them to you; and, if you use Import from Apple Health or turn on automatic import, read workouts recorded by other apps or devices so they can be added to your log. Health data is used only on your device for the features you see; it is never transmitted to us or anyone else, and is never used for advertising or shared with third parties. You can revoke access at any time in the Health app or in Settings → Privacy & Security → Health.

Photos

Adding a progress photo uses Apple's photo picker, which shares only the specific images you choose. The app never has access to your photo library.

Purchases

Subscriptions and the lifetime unlock are processed by Apple. We never see your payment details. Purchase records live with your Apple Account (and the App Store receipt on the device), which is also how your original Gym Log+ purchase is recognized and honored.

What leaves your device

• Nothing identifying, ever. Since version 3.15 (August 2026) the app makes no network requests of its own. Apple's services that the app relies on — iCloud sync, the App Store for purchases, Apple Health — talk to Apple, under Apple's privacy policy, and none of them involve a server of ours.
• Versions before 3.15 fetched one small static configuration file from gymlogplus.com (used to pause the data importer remotely if a serious bug was found). That was a plain download with no account, no identifiers, and no payload about you. We keep hosting the file for those versions; as with any web request, the server that hosts it may keep standard access logs (IP address, timestamp) for a short period, and we do not use them to identify or track you.
• What you choose to share — a workout card or text summary, a month or year recap, a CSV, a backup file, or a routine shared as a link — goes only where you send it. A shared plan link contains the routine itself inside the link (nothing is uploaded anywhere), so whoever you send it to can read that routine.
• Crash and diagnostic data reaches us only through Apple's standard, opt-in mechanisms (the iOS analytics-sharing setting you control) or when you personally choose Settings → Feedback → Report a Problem, which composes an email you can review before sending — its diagnostics attachment contains app/device info and recent log lines, never your workout data. The app also keeps the performance and crash reports iOS itself generates (MetricKit) in its own storage on your device, and includes a summary of them in that same report; they are never sent anywhere on their own.

Data retention and deletion

Your data is yours. Delete the app and its on-device data is removed; delete the data from iCloud (Settings → your name → iCloud → Manage Account Storage → Gym Log+) to remove synced copies. Deleting a profile inside the app permanently removes that profile's data; archiving one keeps it. We hold nothing to delete on our end, because nothing was ever sent to us.

The website

gymlogplus.com is an informational site for the app. It has no accounts, no store, and no sign-up forms, and we do not set tracking cookies or use any analytics. Two details worth stating: the "Download on the App Store" badge image is loaded from Apple's servers, so Apple sees that request as it would for any site showing the badge; and a shared plan link (gymlogplus.com/r/…) is decoded entirely in your browser — the plan travels inside the link and is never sent to us. As with any website, the server that hosts it may keep standard transient access logs (IP address, timestamp).

Children

Gym Log+ is a fitness tracker rated 16+ on the App Store. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone — child or adult; the app collects nothing about you by design.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a new date. Material changes will be called out in the app's release notes.
